Piazza della Loggia

Piazza della Loggia is notorious for the bombing that took place on the morning of 28 May 1974 during an anti-fascist protest. It is one of the most important squares of Brescia and the main building is Palazzo della Loggia, a palace of the Renaissance where today the municipality is based. On the other side of the square you can see “i macc de le ure”, literally called “i matti delle ore”, two bronze statues which tell the hour by beating with their hammer the bells on the top of the Tower of Orologio.

Piazza Loggia can be reached from the Albergo Orologio in 1 minute on foot.
